North Devon

The Eyrie is on the edge of the historic village of Mortehoe. The village has two pubs, a tea room, fish and chip shop and a village shop with post office. From the village you can walk out to the headland of Morte Point on the South West coast path and try spotting a seal or two.
Nearby is the beautiful sandy beach of Woolacombe, a surfers paradise, it has miles of space for picnics, walking, surfing, stand up paddle boarding and swimming. We have seen kite surfing, paragliding, cycling and horse riding on the sands of Woolacombe beach. Lundy Island, home to seals and puffins, sits offshore.
This part of North Devon is the first place in the UK to be selected as a World Surfing Reserve.

The hidden gems of Barricane and Grunta beaches are on the way to Woolacombe, you can spend an evening enjoying an amazing Sri Lankan curry on Barricane beach or swim in the tidal rock pools on Grunta. The charming hamlet of Lee Bay is a few miles in the other direction towards Ilfracombe.
